Developing Intimacy With God and Jesus
AI states that “Intimacy is about connection. It's the closeness you feel with someone when you share your thoughts, vulnerabilities, or experiences openly. It’s the trust and comfort that lets you be your authentic self with someone else.” Many Christians will say, I know that I am in Christ because I prayed to accept Jesus. I believe that I am a Christian but somehow, I don’t feel a closeness to God that others talk about. Some may even say, sometimes I wonder if I am truly saved. This series is about how to develop an intimate connection with God. It is about being in a relationship whereby God interacts on a personal level with individuals. It is about experiencing intimacy with God and Jesus on a deeper level. The goal of this series is to help move Christians from mundane religiosity to having a vibrant and thriving relationship with God, our father, and His son Jesus Christ through developing intimacy.
I invite you to follow with us as we learn together how to develop intimacy with God and Jesus.
We also invite you to join us in person or watch us live on our Facebook page. Every Sunday at 11 AM.

A family of missionary servants
We believe the gospel changes everything, including our identities. Jesus doesn’t “save” us just for some time in the future, he calls us family, missionaries and servants today. At NCES we strive to carry out his plan for us everyday.
We are members of the New City Family of churches, a family of independent and interdependent local churches that work together for the advancement of the Gospel, working together to plant, replant and adopt churches.
A family of churches
A New Beginning
In the late 1800’s, First Baptist Church of Macon saw a need in the Mill Village located just across the Ocmulgee River and started the Baptist Sunday School of East Macon. That Sunday School grew into Warren Chapel in 1888 and seven years later became East Macon Baptist Church. By the 1950’s the church had grown to 1,000 members and was named East Side Baptist Church.
In the Late 1970’s East Side Baptist Church members left the old Mill Village and planted 3 new churches, one of which was named Northridge Baptist Church, located at 2360 Gray Highway. For many years the church served the communities surrounding them in both Bibb and Jones County, growing to multiple services and the construction of new facilities.
After recent years of decline in membership, on July 12, 2020 the members of Northridge Baptist Church made the courageous decision to merge with New City Church, Macon and work together to start a new church in the Northridge location. This brave and exciting decision has led to the planting of New City Church, East Side.
On January 10, 2020 we officially launched as New City East Side. We are excited about all that God has already done and all he has in store for our future! If you would like to be a part of this church replant we would love to have you join us! We are gathering for worship every Sunday at 11:00am.
