The Gospel Changes Everything

The gospel is the good news of the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.  That good news calls unbelievers to believe by faith in the finished work of Christ on the cross thereby leading to salvation.  This part of the gospel is true, but it’s only a part of the gospel.  The gospel does so much more.  We are not only saved from hell to heaven by believing the gospel, but we are also continually delivered, changed, and empowered through all of life’s circumstances by the power and grace of the gospel.  The gospel changes our identities.  The gospel affects all areas of life.  The gospel is so much more than merely salvation though salvation is paramount.  The gospel changes everything.   It changes how we relate to others.  It drives our faith and strengthens what we believe about our God.  The gospel is the most beautiful aspect of our faith because when we believe it and enter it, it changes everything about our living and our personhood.  The gospel changes everything.  Gather with us as we walk through the many wonderful aspects of how the gospel changes everything.

We invite you to join us in person or watch us live on our Facebook page. Every Sunday at 11 AM.

A family of missionary servants

We believe the gospel changes everything, including our identities. Jesus doesn’t “save” us just for some time in the future, he calls us family, missionaries and servants today. At NCES we strive to carry out his plan for us everyday.

A family of churches

We are members of the New City Family of churches, a family of independent and interdependent local churches that work together for the advancement of the Gospel, working together to plant, replant and adopt churches.

A New Beginning

In the late 1800’s, First Baptist Church of Macon saw a need in the Mill Village located just across the Ocmulgee River and started the Baptist Sunday School of East Macon. That Sunday School grew into Warren Chapel in 1888 and seven years later became East Macon Baptist Church. By the 1950’s the church had grown to 1,000 members and was named East Side Baptist Church.

In the Late 1970’s East Side Baptist Church members left the old Mill Village and planted 3 new churches, one of which was named Northridge Baptist Church, located at 2360 Gray Highway. For many years the church served the communities surrounding them in both Bibb and Jones County, growing to multiple services and the construction of new facilities.

After recent years of decline in membership, on July 12, 2020 the members of Northridge Baptist Church made the courageous decision to merge with New City Church, Macon and work together to start a new church in the Northridge location. This brave and exciting decision has led to the planting of New City Church, East Side.

On January 10, 2020 we officially launched as New City East Side. We are excited about all that God has already done and all he has in store for our future! If you would like to be a part of this church replant we would love to have you join us! We are gathering for worship every Sunday at 11:00am.
